PechaKucha: Pretty Vacant
As part of the ongoing GREEN2014 programme, Architecture and Design Scotland were invited to curate the first PechaKucha to be held at The Whisky Bond.
The event titled ‘Pretty Vacant’ welcomed an exciting group of speakers to give their own take on transforming vacant space, animating public space and urban food growing. The event demonstrated what’s possible, sparked new ideas and will hopefully encourage future collaborations.
It was a full house for event which sold out a week in advance. Over 80 people turned up to hear from speakers including Nicola Atkinson from NADFLY, Anthony Engi Meacock – founding member of Assemble, Sinead Fortune – Founder of Urban Catch, Paula McCabe from Concrete Garden and many more.
