The Distillery
During winter in Glasgow we already spend enough time at home. Our city is one full of talented freelancers, creatives, makers and do-ers and for those who don’t want to work alone in the house, a regular office space isn’t usually what they’re looking for either.
We wanted to create a co-working space for Glasgow’s creative community. One that is designed to specifically meet the needs and evolving working styles of those freelancers and start-ups. This time last year we did just that, we launched The Distillery here at The Whisky Bond.
The Distillery is an open-plan, flexible co-working space with quiet areas, communal zones for group working, social spaces and meeting rooms. It is not only a place where you can focus on your work, but also meet potential collaborators.
Everything is at hand here; super-fast wifi, photocopying and printing facilities, lockers, a communal kitchen. The bespoke furniture created by Glasgow Sculpture studios and George Thompson, beautiful lighting designed by artist Soizig Carey and the custom art work by Risotto and Panel that fill the walls have transformed the large industrial space into a pleasant and comfortable working environment.
As a member of The Distillery, you are not only provided with a workspace but you also become part of the creative community of The Whisky Bond. Your neighbours – through the wall, at the next desk, or having coffee on the sofa beside you – may be artists, designers, architects, producers, journalists, copywriters, skilled craft workers or makers.
A a regular programme of events throughout the building from talks to social events, exhibitions and performances will ensure you’ve got plenty to add to your calendar.
We have a quickly growing number of members working in a variety of exciting industries. If you’d like to be a part of The Distillery and apply for a membership drop us an email at distillery@thewhiskybond.co.uk.
